The Kansas City Film Critics Circle (of which I am a member) gathered last night to vote on the group’s 44th annual year-end awards.
The Loutzenhiser Awards are named after KCFCC founder James Loutzenhiser.
The KCFCC is the second oldest professional film critics’ association in the United States.
Due to an insane amount of snow, I wasn’t able to attend, but I did send my votes through proxy.
The winners were:
Best Film – “Up in the Air”
Robert Altman Award for Best Director – Kathryn Bigelow, “The Hurt Locker”
Best Actress – Meryl Streep, “Julie & Julia”
Best Supporting Actress – Mo’Nique, “Precious”
Best Actor – George Clooney, “Up in the Air”
Best Supporting Actor – Christoph Waltz, “Inglourious Basterds”
Best Animated Film – “Up”
Best Foreign Language Film – “Gomorrah”, Italy
Best Documentary – “Every Little Step”
Best Original Screenplay – Quentin Tarantino, “Inglourious Basterds”
Best Adapted Screenplay – Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner, “Up in the Air”
Vince Koehler Award for Outstanding Science Fiction, Fantasy or Horror Film – “District 9”

Pretty boring this year. You guys should have done something radical to stand out like give Adventureland best film and then you can start the momentum of it being nominated in the 10.
