I want to extend a great big thank you to everybody who made the 2012 KC Oscar Party happen: Lost in Reviews, Terrace on Grand, AMC Theatres, Allied Integrated Marketing, the recordBar, Trey Hock and his wonderful greenscreen, Warren Cantrell for flying in from Seattle and co-hosting, and James McCrory for stepping up at the last minute.

We had a fantastic time and Alex Lamb, Dustin Schirer, and Sarah Cunnick got 17 correct on their Oscar ballot, beating out everybody else as the first-place winners! Nick Colby and Josh Dubois got 0 and 1 correct respectively to win the coveted Jack and Jill t-shirts and movie posters for Toby Keith’s Beer for my Horses.

Here’s a slideshow of the greenscreen pics from the party, plus you can check out the full set of awesome candid pics taken by Angela Davis of Lost in Reviews. We hope everyone else had as much fun as we did!

I missed actress, screenplay, cinematography, short film, costumes, editing and visual effects. I tried picking a couple of upsets with screenplay and costumes, turns out I would have got 19 if I’d have gone with the favorites there (I also lost on my one I picked out of my love of the work with Tree of Life for cinematography). What was the one that someone got right trying to pick the losers was it editing?

Ha! You are right, it was the editing award that went to “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.” That award in particular flummoxed me completely. I suppose if Luzbeki was going to lose to someone for Cinematography, Richardson’s 3D work in “Hugo” would be my 2nd choice!
